Grandparent Rights

Although most legislative branches of government have dealt with this issue [Texas being no exception] absent a showing of exigent circumstances or unfitness on the part of a parent/s there are limited grandparent's rights. The rational being that parents raise their children unfettered by governmental intrusion unless the child's health or safety is endangered by the unfitness on the part of a parent/s. This rational was handed down by a U.S. Supreme Court by landmark decision of Troxel v. Granville in 2000.
